The Theatre Architecture Competition (TAC) is an international competition organized by the OISTAT Architecture Commission (AC). ¹ Since 1978, it has been held every four years with the aim of promoting new ideas about theatre architecture and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Theatre Architecture Competition encourages collaborations between architects and other theatre practitioners such as directors, designers, technicians, actors, dancers, musicians, or students ² of these fields.

Bait Obaid Al Shamsi Courtyard is the venue for the 2025 Theatre Architecture Competition. The site, built in 1457 and formerly a merchant’s house, is located in the heart of Sharjah.
