AXOR x ATMOSPHERE by Krallerhof: The iconic harmony that fascinates with details

HadiTeherani; Architect and designer from Hamburg of Iranian origin
This incredible structure, built in Leogang, Austria, was implemented in a short time of approximately 13 months.
The structure in the middle of the Alpine landscape not only provides the ultimate relaxation, but also sets new design standards in the world of spa and wellness oases. Each material applied is the result of very special and detailed studies.

Anyone who enters the ATMOSPHERE of the spa, embedded in the gently rolling terrain at the foot of Leoganger Steinberge, is plunged into a world of absolute slowdown and relaxation.

Perhaps this spa is one of the best examples of Hadi Teherani’s approach, which he describes as a completely natural process: “Because the design is always there, the space dictates it, you just have to recognize it.”

krallerhof03“It was the green meadows, the background of the mountain landscape and the gently curved lines of the environment that inspired me to create this organic design in Krallerhof.”

It was a design that was in full harmony with the surrounding nature. And at the same time, it was developed and enriched. “I have the feeling that this place has come to life again with this facility,” said Hadi Teherani.

In the interior, the reduced color palette using wood and stone-based materials exudes calmness. A 22-meter-long glass façade runs the entire length of the front façade. It offers a visual connection with the environment and opens up unique views of nature.

Its outstanding feature is that it can be completely embedded into the ground, thus seamlessly connecting the interior to the exterior architecturally.

Like the swimming lake, which creates a completely new water experience with its 50-meter-long infinity pool, which forms the heart of the newly created landscape around Krallerhof and integrates seamlessly with the lake. The pool offers Olympic-sized swimming opportunities all year round.

The pool is filled with water from the spring, regulating itself through precipitation and evaporation, and the generous vegetation brings more biodiversity to the region.

krallerhof05The organically shaped shell of Krallerhof’s ATMOSPHERE encompasses several saunas, a relaxation room, the Blue Grotto, a yoga room and a lakeside café. The basic idea of the design, where naturalness, harmony and elegance come to the fore, is reflected in every area. Simple exposed concrete, regional wood, Alpine marble and glass are the dominant materials that also determine the color palette of the interior.

krallerhof06The design of shower and toilet areas is completed with AXOR Universal Circular accessories. Designed in collaboration with Barber Osgerby, accessories such as AXOR One products are highly functional design objects with a timeless elegant design language. With their clean lines and rounded corners, the accessories fit perfectly into the AXOR One collection and thus complement the minimalist overall concept.

AXOR’s design objects provide a significant functionality and design contribution to this project, which has been considered down to the smallest furniture detail.

When equipping the shower and toilet areas, Hadi Teherani used tabs, showers and thermostats from the AXOR One collection, as well as AXOR Universal Circular Accessories in stainless steel look with FinishPlus surface, the restrained yet iconic color harmonized perfectly with the reduced, pure look.
