The Seoul Design Award 2025 invites individual designers, groups and businesses worldwide to submit outstanding design projects that contribute to a more sustainable and harmonious future for humanity, society and the environment.

About the Award:

This prestigious award recognizes designers, organizations or companies whose projects demonstrate a commitment to sustainable everyday living, establishing a balanced relationship between people, society and the environment.

Established in 2010, the Seoul Design Award is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Seoul’s designation as a UNESCO City of Creative Design highlights its commitment to collaborative design efforts towards a sustainable future.

The award celebrates designers who use their creativity to overcome everyday challenges and foster harmonious, sustainable relationships between individuals, society and the environment.

Why Should You Enter?

Every year, designers from over 80 countries submit influential work to the Seoul Design Award, demonstrating the global reach and importance of this recognition. A distinguished panel of over 32 design leaders from over 20 countries provide valuable feedback as judges. Recognized by international design experts, the Seoul Design Award stands out as the world’s only public design award dedicated to sustainable daily living.

Purpose:

To promote the value of design by showcasing outstanding projects that creatively address daily challenges.

Theme:

Sustainable Daily Living Designs Aiming for Harmony between People, Society and the Environment.

Eligibility:

Individual designers or groups and businesses of designers from around the world.

Design Fields:

All design projects completed within the last 5 years. (Product, visual, digital/multimedia, spatial/system, service/experiential/social, etc.)

Award Categories:
Area 1.

Main Award: Projects or products that are produced, launched and accessible to users.

 Award Categories Area 2.

Concept Award: Design models, prototypes, plans, etc.

Focus Areas:

Health and Well-being: Projects that ensure the health and well-being of all people and support sustainable peace.

Equal Opportunities (Universal Design):

Projects that create equal opportunities for all, such as Universal Design.

Energy and Environment (Recycling, Upcycling):

Projects that focus on ecosystem protection and sustainable resource management, such as recycling.(participation requirements)

Cities and Communities:

Community-focused projects that utilize sustainable infrastructure and innovative technologies.
