Dutch Design Week 2025 Craft and Digital Production Trends
Dutch Design Week 2025 is currently running in Eindhoven, featuring work from over 2,600 designers across numerous DDW Exhibitions and Talks. The Eindhoven Design Event program highlights significant Design Trends 2025 that emphasize Sustainable Craft and the integration of digital processes.

Mavito, a Brussels-based design organization based in Spain, showcases lighting solutions based on Mediterranean aesthetics, utilizing wood, rope, and paper. The Torre Lamp utilizes precision laser cutting to reduce material waste. The design combines traditional painting techniques with new production methods, using naturally dyed ropes that exhibit texture and color that change over time. This approach positions the lamp as a model of Sustainable Craftsmanship through efficient design.

Eline Mathe, founder of Creatrice Ceramics, explores the intersection of high fashion and ceramic art. The Colificets collection, which means “small, ornate objects” in French, references haute couture through form. By using clay through the intuitive processes of textile coating, Mathe transforms the structural and tactile qualities of garments into enduring ceramic art. By incorporating embroidery and thread, the pieces serve as a sculptural interpretation of the material language of clothing.

JSPR introduces its Ichi Lamps series, organically shaped pendants that emit indirect, soft light. Available in two sizes, the designs allow for a variety of installations, from clusters to grand chandeliers. The collection, following the principles of Modular Lighting seen throughout the week, stands out with its simple form and focus on integrated light quality.

The Meegroeien project examines the social and environmental context of 2,000 elder trees in Eindhoven. The exhibition portrays these “elder trees” as historical landmarks and essential community resources. The project focuses on documented design interventions, such as restorative crafts on damaged trunks, emphasizing the tree’s role in local identity and strengthening community-nature ties.
