Glass artist Simon Waranch is making a profound impact on the art world. As noted by Dallas-based collector Dennis Dubois, who stated, “We have been collecting contemporary glass sculpture for 33 years… I have never seen anyone as talented as Simon at such a young age.” Using a unique approach that breaks with the traditions of glass blowing, the artist creates bold, modern artworks.
His mastery of the challenging Reticello form is evident in pieces like his captivating “Wiggles” series, which has earned him a reputation as a visionary talent. At DWN, we are taking a closer look at his journey.

Glass artist Simon Waranch passion for glass art was sparked at age 15 during his first trip to Murano, Italy, the historic heartland of glassblowing. A Dallas-based artist, Waranch graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and received a full scholarship to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.

Meeting glass artist Lino Tagliapietra was a significant turning point in his career. “Talent and passion are crucial elements in an artist’s development, and Simon possesses both,” Tagliapietra said, clearly expressing his belief in the young artist’s potential.

Waranch’s skill is evident in his unique contemporary interpretations of the challenging reticello form. This technique, which involves intricate lattice patterns created with glass rods, gives his fine art glass sculptures a unique optical depth and complexity. His works are not simply about form; they are living sculptures that play with light and dialogue with their spaces.

This renowned glass artist has quickly gained international recognition. In recent years, his glass sculpture collection has been featured in many major exhibitions and galleries, solidifying his place in the art world.
