Rossana Orlandi Design Gallery Milan’s Visionary Curator

Rossana Orlandi -contemporary design

What makes Rossana Orlandi design gallery so unique isn’t just the artworks it exhibits, but the space itself. Once a tie factory, the three-story complex, with its inner courtyard and rustic architecture, served as a raw canvas.

Orlandi has transformed this “Spazio Orlandi” into a labyrinthine, experiential space that takes visitors on a journey from the moment they step inside. Every corner offers a surprising and inspiring installation, transforming the gallery from a static exhibition space into a living, breathing design house rather than a static exhibition space.

Rossana Orlandi -retailer and curator

Orlandi is known for her intuition in discovering new design talent. “I’m not a trend-setter,” Orlandi says, adding that he seeks the spirit and story of a work rather than its functionality. This curatorial philosophy has launched many designers’ international careers.

Maarten Baas: The Dutch designer‘s “Smoke” series, which transforms furniture into art by setting it on fire, was first introduced to the world by Orlandi.

Nacho Carbonell: The Spanish designer‘s organic, sculptural, and tactile works immediately attracted attention when they were first exhibited at the Rossana Orlandi design gallery.

Piet Hein Eek: Eek’s approach focused on sustainability, and his recycled wood furniture found a perfect home in Orlandi’s vision.

Galleria Rossana Orlandi has become a must-see at every Milan Design Week. In 2024, he and his daughter Nicoletta curated the “RoCollectible” exhibition, showcasing the work of more than 80 designers and focusing specifically on material innovation and sustainability.

In 2025, it further expands this focus with events like “The Scale of Engagement.” The gallery is considered a hub of innovation and creativity, attracting designers, collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world.

Orlandi’s story is an inspiring example of transforming a personal passion into a global movement. He’s not just a gallery owner; he’s a pioneer shaping the future of design, breaking barriers, and championing creativity.
