The movement within the Salone pavilions — facial expressions, gestures, and everyday interactions — presents a natural narrative that unfolds without relying on a fixed script.
Directed by Gianluca Vassallo, and produced by Maddalena Setta for White Box, the film features Maria Porro, Piero Lissoni, Fabio Novembre, Elena Salmistraro, Gabriele Buratti, Luca Nichetto, and Francesca Lanzavecchia.
According to Gianluca Vassallo, who has documented Salone and the design industry for years, a film focusing on the internal dynamics of Salone had become necessary.
Working in visual arts since 2011, Vassallo produces work that documents people and everyday life. In this film, he records what takes place during Salone week.
The Lost and Roll design documentary will premiere in Italy on April 16, 2026, at 21:15 at Anteo Spazio cinema in Milan.
